The key to finding the right foundation is looking for one that not only matches your shade and skin tone, but also gives the finish you like, whether it’s natural, dewy, radiant or matte. We tested a few new foundations with different finishes to see if they lived up to our expectations.

I’m a fan of dispensing liquid foundation onto my hand to warm it up before application, but I know people who use a plate or dispense directly on their face, so I guess this one’s for those who don’t like to get their hands dirty. The front part of the square bottle serves as a plate for you to dispense the foundation on to your sponge, but the hygiene freak in me is screaming (I’m the kind who washes my hands with antibacterial soap three times before touching my face). The foundation is supposed to give a flawless finish and it did for a while. After lunch, the foundation and slipped off on oilier areas such as my nose and chin – maybe because I skipped primer with this foundation. The good news is, the foundation doesn’t dry too quickly after application so it’s easy to blend. It gives a velvet-like finish, so if you don’t like a super matte or glowy finish and are looking for something in-between, this could be what you’re looking for. It also boasts a range of shades and undertones, so you should be able to find one for your skin tone.

It was easy to apply especially with the use of a brush. Even though it has a matte finish, the foundation goes on smoothly and doesn’t look cakey. It lasts longer when used with a primer. In fact, it lasted the whole day despite the hot weather.

I am really impressed by the lightweight texture and dewy finish it gives me when I apply it with my Beautyblender. Although it may feel slightly tacky upon application, I am not bothered by it because it makes my skin glow from within and I love how it stays like this throughout the day – more so with a primer underneath. I might have found a new favourite to keep my skin looking dewy and fresh without much touch-up even if I have a long day ahead.

This product, is heaven sent! I have tried it with and without primer, and it keeps my skin looking flawless throughout the day. Achieve full coverage with one or two pumps, and a lighter coverage with half a pump. I use Zoeva foundation brush to apply, but it also glides on effortlessly even with my fingers. I have an oily t-zone, and this product reduces the shine of my forehead and around my nose – although I do need to powder at mid-day. I expected it to be more drying around my eyes or lips, given the fact that I’m in office most of the day – but it’s not. My skin looks flawless and dewy throughout the day as the product leave a powdery finish.

I’m generally averse to anything that contains strong fragrance, but surprisingly, I liked the scent of this foundation. More importantly, it delivers the glow that its namesake promises. I started with a thin layer to balance out my complexion. It didn’t provide enough coverage with just one layer, so I added another layer, which concealed most of my imperfections while retaining the glow. This lasted through a late-night dinner with friends, so this is definitely going to be one of my go-to foundations.

The coverage is pretty light, so it’s perfect for days where you want to keep your makeup really natural. Plus, it’s buildable, which is always convenient. It didn’t however make my skin particularly dewy, so that was disappointing, but it’s not the worst thing to happen since it actually lasted throughout a 12-hour day.

Is this really a foundation? It blends so well! Although it felt barely-there, it covered up enough to neutralise the redness on my face. The formula doesn’t budge, so I didn’t need to touch up before heading out at night.

I love the packaging for the product – a dropper always makes the product seem more luxurious and limits product wastage. My skin has always been very oily around the T-zone and I usually look for a natural or matte foundation so that I don’t end up looking like a greasy mess towards the end of day. I applied this foundation with a damp Beautyblender over my serum, moisturiser and a moisturising primer with SPF. It sits well on the skin and has a natural, medium coverage to hide small acne scars without looking cakey. However, with darker acne marks or dark eye circles, I will need to use a concealer if I am looking for flawless coverage.
